Jesus Christ will return.
Evil will ultimately be defeated.
God will judge humanity.
Satan will be defeated.
Christ will reign as King.
God will establish His eternal kingdom.
There will be a final judgment.
God will create a new heaven and a new earth.
And those who belong to Christ will dwell with God forever.
Jesus repeatedly warned His followers to remain watchful because His return will be unexpected.
In Matthew 24:44, Jesus says:

The passage describes a mark associated with the beast and explains that economic activity becomes connected to receiving the mark.
Revelation says that the beast causes people to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead.

The Mark of the Beast has generated enormous speculation throughout history. Numerous technologies, governments, identification systems, and political leaders have been proposed as possible fulfillments.
Christians should be careful about making definitive claims that Scripture itself does not make.
Revelation's central warning concerns worship and allegiance.
The issue is not merely a physical mark. It represents allegiance to the beast in opposition to God.
The contrast throughout Revelation is between those who belong to God and those who follow the beast.
Who Are the Two Witnesses in Revelation?
Revelation 11 describes two mysterious witnesses who prophesy during the end times.
They are given extraordinary authority and are able to perform signs and judgments.
The two witnesses become targets of the beast and are eventually killed.
Their bodies lie in the streets of the great city, and people around the world celebrate their death.
But after three and a half days, God raises them from the dead.
They then ascend into heaven.
The identity of the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 has been debated for centuries.
Some interpreters believe they represent specific Old Testament figures such as Moses and Elijah.
Others understand them symbolically as representing God's prophetic witness.
Regardless of their precise identity, their story demonstrates an important theme of Revelation:

What Is the Battle of Armageddon?

Revelation 16 describes the gathering of the kings of the earth for the final conflict.
The armies are gathered at a place called Armageddon.
Revelation 19 then describes the return of Christ and the defeat of the beast and the kings of the earth.
The Battle of Armageddon represents the culmination of humanity's rebellion against God.
But the outcome is never really in doubt.
Jesus Christ is victorious.
The beast is defeated.
The forces opposing God are judged.
The King of Kings triumphs.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
The Second Coming of Jesus is the central event toward which biblical end times prophecy points.
Revelation 19 presents one of the most dramatic descriptions of Christ's return.
Jesus appears as a conquering King riding a white horse.
He is called:
Faithful and True.
He is identified as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
This is a powerful contrast to the suffering Christ revealed earlier in the New Testament.
The same Jesus who came as the suffering servant will return as the victorious King.

Premillennialism
Premillennialists understand Christ's return as occurring before the Millennium.
Amillennialism
Amillennialists generally understand the thousand years symbolically rather than as a future literal thousand-year earthly kingdom.
Postmillennialism

The important point is that Jesus Christ reigns and ultimately defeats Satan and evil.
The Final Judgment
Revelation 20 describes the Great White Throne Judgment.
The dead stand before God.
Books are opened.
Another book is opened—the Book of Life.
The dead are judged according to their works.
Death and Hades are ultimately thrown into the lake of fire.
The Bible teaches that God's judgment is perfectly righteous.
No injustice will remain unresolved.
Every act of evil will ultimately face God's judgment.
Every person will stand accountable before the Creator.
This should cause us to take seriously both the holiness of God and the salvation offered through Jesus Christ.
What Happens to Satan?
Satan is one of the central enemies in the biblical story, but Scripture makes clear that his defeat is certain.
Revelation 20 describes Satan being bound and eventually thrown into the lake of fire.
The devil's apparent power throughout human history is temporary.
The final outcome is certain:
God wins.
Satan loses.
Evil is judged.
God's kingdom remains forever.

What Is the New Heaven and New Earth?
The Bible's story does not end with destruction.
It ends with restoration.
Revelation 21 describes a new heaven and a new earth.
John sees the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven.
God dwells with His people.
Revelation 21:4 gives one of the most beautiful promises in Scripture:
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more."
The passage says there will be no more mourning, crying, or pain.
The biblical vision of eternity is therefore not simply escaping from the earth.
It is God's ultimate restoration of creation.
The New Jerusalem
The New Jerusalem is described in extraordinary detail in Revelation 21.
John sees:
- A city coming down from heaven
- Brilliant glory
- Walls made of precious materials

- No need for sun or moon
- No temple because God and the Lamb are its temple

Genesis begins with humanity in a garden.
Revelation ends with humanity dwelling with God in His restored creation.
How Should Christians Respond to End Times Prophecy?
Studying end times prophecy should produce more than fascination.
It should produce faithfulness.
Jesus repeatedly instructed His followers to remain watchful.
This means Christians should:
1. Know God's Word
The best protection against prophetic deception is familiarity with Scripture.
Study Daniel.
Study the words of Jesus.
Study Paul's letters.
Study Revelation.
Compare Scripture with Scripture.
2. Remain Faithful to Jesus
End times prophecy repeatedly emphasizes perseverance.
The believer's primary responsibility is not predicting the future.
It is following Christ.
3. Avoid False Prophecy
Throughout history, people have repeatedly predicted exact dates for Christ's return.
These predictions have consistently failed.
Jesus said that no one knows the day or hour.
Christians should therefore reject sensational date-setting and focus on faithfulness.
4. Share the Gospel
The fact that Christ is returning should motivate Christians to proclaim the gospel.
The gospel is not merely information about the future.
